Abigail Burrows

 

 

Abbie teaches the flute at The Purcell School and also works as a deputy at Trinity Laban and the junior departments of the Royal Academy, Trinity and Guildhall.

 

An innovative and enthusiastic teacher, she has been a guest artist on numerous flute events and courses, working with thousands of flute players. Her creative teaching style has earned her an international reputation, with several workshops and masterclasses scheduled across the UK, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Hong Kong, Kenya, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Holland, Gran Canaria, Australia and America.

 

She has been a course tutor for Flute School London for eight years, working with adults and children, and is a keen supporter of flute charity Flutewise - working for the organisation since 2005, assisting Liz Goodwin (Founder) on residential courses and events in the UK, Slovenia and Croatia.

 

As a performer, Abbie is a busy freelancer - working as a soloist and with chamber groups, orchestras and in London's West End. She is currently performing in Pinocchio at London's National Theatre.

Janna Hüneke

 

 

Janna Hüneke, born in Germany, studied the flute with Averil Williams at the Guildhall School. She was also taught by Geoffrey Gilbert, Peter Lloyd, Kate Lukas & Patricia Morris (piccolo). Janna works mostly as a freelance player, both in orchestras (including Grange Park Opera, Pimlico Opera, the National Symphony Orchestra, Brighton Philharmonic, Amadeus Orchestra); and as a soloist. Janna has given many recitals and played concertos with numerous orchestras. She has appeared as a soloist on BBC Radio 3 and on WDR3 in Germany.  

 

Janna is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced teacher and player. She regularly plays with her chamber group Harmoniemusik of which she is a founder member. The group has toured in such diverse locations as Europe and the Yemen. Two CD's have been recorded as self-funded projects by Harmoniemusik, one in 1998 and the next in 2007, both of which have had numerous airings on BBC Radio 3.

Janna teaches the flute at Dame Alice Owen’s school and, until recently, at the Hall School. Janna is co-founder and director of the course “Flute School London”, which has made a big splash in the flute world.
